The area around Sondrio holds one of the most fascinating Lombardy’s valleys, named Valtellina, in the heart of the lombard Alps and surrounded by Spluga Pass, Bernina Massif and Cevedale Massif, and in the southern area, the Orobie and Lake Como.

In Valtellina, the wind brushes woods and lashes the icy mountaintops at about 4000 meters and the water runs down from glaciers, splitting into thousands of crystalline streams, where a prosperous and precious nature reveals itself.
Rich in natural parks, the area belonging to Valtellina is famous for the Stelvio National Park, the biggest one of the whole Alps (over 130.000 hectares), cradle of an invaluable landscape heritage offering endless excursion opportunities.
Along with the Stelvio Park there are several destinations as much as striking, like Valchiavenna, Val di Mello, Valmasino, Valmalenco in the northern area, while other smaller and wilder valleys come down in parallel in the Southern part, the most renowned is Val Gerola, able to increase the charm of the landscape referring to Sondrio.
